Solace Foundation was founded by Dr. Lamin Jaiteh and Dr. Fatoumatta Jitteh in June 2023. Solace is a non-profit entity established under the streamlined single-window registration process at the Attorney General’s office in the Republic of The Gambia. Both founders, dedicated medical professionals, are committed to enhancing the healthcare landscape for cancer patients in The Gambia.

The Solace Foundation is a charitable organization aiming to complement existing structures and efforts to address healthcare gaps in The Gambia. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), No. 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and No. 17 (Partnership for the Goals) of the UN Charter, our foundation is devoted to improving healthcare and fostering collaboration for the benefit of the community.

Our mission is to provide a seamless continuum of care, from outpatient clinics for screening and diagnosis to comprehensive cancer centers offering a full range of treatment options. We aim to enhance the entire healthcare journey by prioritizing timely interventions, including advanced screening, precise diagnostics, surgery, radiotherapy, and palliative care, ensuring a holistic approach for individuals facing cancer.

Our vision at Solace Foundation is to address the escalating challenge posed by Non-Communicable Diseases such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Cancer. We aspire to realize this vision by establishing a specialized oncology center dedicated to ensuring effective cancer management for all patients. This involves investing in a comprehensive cancer treatment facility, catering to the needs of clinically confirmed cancer patients, and fostering a holistic approach to cancer care.
